I was honoured to MC the celebrations and help induct new names into their Hall of Fame.
Channel 31 Melbourne and Geelong is one of the two remaining community TV stations in Australia and it was no easy feat for them to reach 30 years. C31 is now broadcasting on TV and streaming online, and is moving quickly towards creating a smart TV app.
Household name Rove McManus was inducted into the CTV Hall of Fame, who inspired a generation of comedians with his show 'Rove Live'. His roots can be traced back to Channel 31 when he hosted an RMITV show called 'The Loft Live'.
Other stars who were also inducted into the Hall of Fame include Stella Young, Vasili Kanidiadis, The Student Youth Network, Nimal Alwish, Mark 'Fletch' Fletcher – and who could forget, the iconic live fish tank show 'Fishcam'.
I can't wait to see what the next 30 years brings for the station and what future television stars it will inspire!
